Relisted due to someone's kid bidding... Original condition Shakespeare Mini Clubman, around 1978/9. Owner boat, incl CMBA (Classic Motor Boat Association) members.
Very rare to find in this colour condition. Never been painted, hull and deck gelcoat in lovely condition with minor scratches and chips commensurate with 40 years of use. Always gets admired.

Recent renovation (2018) including new old stock Smiths speedo and Teleflex rack steering system (finger light) to replace the original drum and cable setup. period steering wheel and other sensitive mods and replacement step pads hardware fitted/done. The splashwell has been fitted with clamp pad and thin aluminium outer transom plate to avoid the engine mounts damaging the gelcoat.

Trailer is period galvanised Snipe breakback, with proper bunks to support the boat and transom and had been sparingly used in freshwater only.  Both tyres (145R10) are brand new and the trailer bearings were replaced in June 2018 and are packed with Renolit Aqua grease. new winch post and Dutton winch were fitted two weeks ago. The boat will fit in normal garage and can be easily towed with small family car. The trailer tows well at high speed and has no rust alignment issues.

These are fun little boats, with interesting race-bred hull design that means they're very capable and safe in choppy or rough water, but with soft ride when not pressing on. With no-trip chines the boat is very manoeuvrable and quite exciting to drive. The boat has been used in and around the Solent and Southampton Water in variety of conditions and will leave some bigger deeper boats behind.

This model has the back to back grp moulded seats, seating 4, with removable bespoke cream seat cushions and matching orange vinyl panelling in the storage ski bins. This means the interior can easily be hosed down after use and left outside, without wood framed foam seats getting damp and rotting. The boat comes with decent American made canvas cover with straps to prevent it flapping around.

The boat is being sold without the 50hp Mercury (longshaft transom). This size motor will give top speed of 30 to 40mph depending on load prop. The boat was also fitted with two cylinder Mercury 40hp 402 in the past, with good performance around 30mph. 40hp Johnson Evinrude will top out at about 27mph see my other listing for longshaft Johnson 40hp.
